FINAL OUTCOME CARD — B3

YOU GAMBLE EVERYTHING EARLY. A surprise attack could disrupt the siege—or destroy your limited army outside the protection of the walls.

HISTORY REVEAL: THE FALL OF CONSTANTINOPLE

Constantinople had huge walls that had protected the city for hundreds of years. In 1453, an enormous Ottoman army surrounded it with powerful new cannons. The city's leaders chose to stay and fight while asking other countries for help. They held out for weeks, but the Ottoman army eventually broke through. Constantinople fell in 1453, ending the Byzantine Empire.
